Chinese for kids

The idea of Chinese4Kids was to present a Chinese Club in an international school in Germany and now a Chinese club in an American School in the Netherlands. The club members are from 3 to 14 years old. The program is designed to introduce Chinese as a whole language to kids living outside China(mostly foreign children). Chinese is taught through Chinese children’s songs, rhymes, games and activities. The club works to motivate children to learn Chinese in a fun way.

The original purpose of setting up this site is to provide an archive for later reference. However, while the site being developed, I, as the mentor of the club as well as the designer and developer of the site, believe that it is also a good idea to include more information, such as Chinese culture, names in Chinese, etc. for all the children who are interested in learning Chinese.

The main part of the site contains the lessons together with relevant worksheets, activities and sound files. The lessons are organized according to the date they are given. All the materials are downloadable.

There are a lot of other useful information regarding Chinese and Chinese learning. You can find BOOKS AND DICTIONARIES which can help children and adults to learn Chinese by themselves. Online Dictionaries and other online tools are useful not only to learn, to input and to use Chinese language. Names in Chinese contains all the club members’ names in addition to some of the most common Western names. You can find all kinds of information in RESOURCES.
